Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Player Rashee Rice

The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night indicating they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of player the athlete and had been in communication with the NFL.

The organization did not mention Rice specifically in their announcement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.

No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.

Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles

Rice was absent for the first six games of this season following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left multiple people injured. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.

Statistically, he concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
