Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The comedian

Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the firm commented: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable involving female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles in total, which features a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
