‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt ready to post publicly about his profound loss.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, adding that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began spending more time together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared archival material from the movie, remarking that he cannot recall "any day without laughter".

"The film is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob valued immensely. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to helm it," Elwes expressed.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I think of you." He ended with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Colleague and Comrade

In a different piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Restricted

This week, a Los Angeles court official agreed to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A legal directive put a embargo on the investigation to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, notes, reports or photos" connected to the probe.

The coroner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of foul play, with a official listing citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, providing divisive claims that were widely condemned by many commentators.
